both, in that order of patience. they are built for the gym, training and everyday wear first; easy running comes once you have adapted. start short and slow, and run in them only after walking in them has stopped feeling like anything at all.
take the smaller one. the toe box is wider than a conventional running shoe by design, so you need room for toe splay rather than extra length — the shoe should hold your midfoot without pressure and leave a thumb-width in front of the longest toe.
the insole is removable, so most low-profile orthotics fit. keep in mind the platform is zero-drop and deliberately unstructured — if you rely on orthotics, ease in gradually and listen to your feet.
